Like peas in a pod...

There is nothing like being snuggled under the duvet and having a snooze. I had my booster and flu jag at the weekend and I’m still really tired. I would happily curl up in a peapod like one of Lena Gubermans sleeping children and pop out when I’ve got some energy back.

Before she moved into ceramics she worked mainly as an illustrator of picture books, animation and editorial commissions. Whatever the medium, her work is always filled with the same whimsical charm.

Deep in slumber, her children sprawl across plates, sleeping or having adventures atop magic horses or happily making snow angels, there is such charm to be found in her creations.

I don’t have the words for how much I adore this little cherry girl. How wonderful would it be to have cherries for feet…

“I was an introverted child, compensating for my loneliness with dreams and fantasies. I had a feeling that there is a creature protecting me from anything bad that can happen. I think those visions came to me when sculpting.”

You can follow her work and take a look at her wonderful archives here on Behance and Instagram.
