Gentlemen Prefer Buns

I am growing my hair long again and, in the meantime, have been wearing it in a bun and since I've been doing this, I have noticed something very strange indeed - slightly older/elderly gents have come over all uber gentlemanly.

I have had them allow me to go first onto buses and into shops, I've had them actually walk ahead of me to open the door for me, hold doors open for me behind them, allow me to be served before them in shops, including the supermarket (unheard of!) and generally display a surprising amount of gentlemanly behaviour.

Most peculiar. Proof that whilst buns may not be the sexiest hairdo ever, they do encourage some old school manners.
