perfect inside and out...

Our young studio intern Jonathan, flew out to Barcelona on Tuesday, which reminded  me that I have been meaning to show you a very special chair for a good while now.

The Barcelonata Chair ...

Designed for Serralunga by Italy's Deep Design, it is an outdoor/indoor version of the classic and elegant Barcelona Chair that was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929.

The single chair can be yours for around £675 while the 2 seater will set you back about £1200.00.

But if you want the chicest outdoor space in town and money is no object ,then without doubt, this is the garden furniture for you...

The Barcelona chair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich, was originally designed for the German Pavilion, that country's entry for the International Exposition of 1929, which was hosted by Barcelona, Spain.

The building was used for the official opening of the German section of the exhibition.  Known, loved and admired for its simple form and its spectacular use of extravagant materials, such as marble, red onyx and travertine, it has inspired many important modernist buildings and an enduring architectural style...
