the rise of rees...
The older I get, the more impressed I am by the accomplishments of the young.
I am staggered by their creativity, passion and drive to succeed. It is wonderful to see their work at the start of their creative journey. That why we are always delighted to share graduate collections.
This week an email popped into The Kingdon from the lovely Lydia Rees telling us that - "I have just been awarded a first for my degree in fashion design from Middlesex University and am hoping to take the next steps towards a career as a womenswear designer. I was recently awarded the runner-up for the Mulberry Accessories Award at Graduate Fashion Week. I was also one of two nominated from my university for the Karen Millen Portfolio Award."
It's not hard to see why her collections have been described as “intelligent” and “beautifully engineered.” Lydia comes across as a confident, professional and motivated young designer with a fastidious eye for detail. I love the flash of mustard from that gauntlet glove and the asymetric cut and details of the dresses.
A girl can never have too may clever dresses...
