Brooklyn Via Scotland

Sorry, men of KOS, you are sorely neglected on here. We very rarely get sent any menswear to feature. Whilst neither of us are experts in the field, none the less we would love to feature menswear that at least tries to go beyond the obligatory printed tee. Actually, are there any men out there reading KOS? Hopefully there is and hopefully at least some of you will appreciate the work of french label, Brooklyn We Go Hard.

I personally love the minimal, modish slant the current collection, entitled Stonehaven, offers. The Jay-Z reference in the brand's name certainly doesn't conjure up images of slick, classic creations, yet this is what the new collection is all about.

The lookbook was shot amongst the breathaking scenery of Glencoe and Stonehaven, right here in Scotland. The majestic and famous mountains make for a perfect sweeping backdrop to the clothing. Scotland was the inspiration for the collection which they amusingly, and perhaps somewhat tweely, describe as "land of legends and adventures associated with a rich set of clothes, where elegance and ease are intertwined." I'm not sure about all of that, but our landscape certainly offers up colours unique in the UK, ripe for using as inspiration. Not to mention our rich tweed heritage. I'm a little disappointed they hadn't included some Scottish tweed in the collection, which would have brought even more depth to it.

The collection comprises of lots of natural materials, like wool, wax cotton and suede in shades of deep blues, anthracite and burgundy.
