The Down Low
Anyone in East Asia will most likely be more than familiar with Low Classic, the popular Korean brand founded in 2009, designed by Lee Myeong Sin, Hwang Hyun Ji, and Park Jin Sun. Unfortunately, it's incredibly difficult to find the brand outside of Asia and this fact torments me continually. There are so many amazing Asian brands out there that never make it to these shores and Low Classic is one.
Low Classic create the perfect minimal wardrobe and never in the dull sense of the word, which minimal can very often cross over into, instead they manages to keep things interesting with lots of typography, done correctly in my opinion, textures and interesting shapes and cut out details. The website hasn't been updated very recently unfortunately, with the last collection featured being Ss13, however that collection alone is worth a look as it ticks plenty of trend boxes moving forward to SS14.
It's youthful and playful but the pieces individually could certainly sit happily alongside a more classic, 'grown up' wardrobe.
This is the Ss13 collection, which is on their site currently. Sportswear inspired with plenty of baseball references.
The AW13 collection is a much more refined affair with obi belt detailing, stunning kimoni-like draping and architectural silhouettes.
