Alpine Is Fine
As you know, I'm covering for Queen Marie this week.
She had written a rough draft post featuring Meshit, which I shall attempt to edit.
Meshit is an Austrian fashion label created by Ida Steixner and Lena Krampf. The label's A/W14 collection was inspired by cloth and workwear of herdsmen from all over the world.
"The playful use of contrasting layers define the collection´s look– alpine atmosphere meets urban streetwear. The cuts and detailing are based on traditional costuming and the idea of a layered cape that protects from environmental influences. Fringed hems, soft plush and pocket detailing as well as alcantara inserts are repeated elements in this collection. The colour palette consists of bright shades of white, creme, beige and pale green and is complemented by various tones of grey and dark green. Woollen and velvety surfaces got together with semi-transparent cottons. Fine structured knitwear comes one-coloured or in a statement allover sheep-pattern."
Queen Marie points out that the hat made her think of Julie Andrews as she leaves the convent to head for the Von Trapp's home for the first time. I couldn't agree more.
With the Alpine influences I do wonder if Ms Andrews made an appearance on their moodboard...
