Je Smell Jane

Hi again! I'm sort of back. I wasn't due to be posting again until 18th but my holiday plans have been rejigged somewhat so I'm posting again as normal this week, with exception of Wednesday. Queen Marie has been a posting demon last week, so please forgive my own slightly slow return.

One thing that did happen just before I finished up for holidays, was Bella Freud's new perfumes.

Bella Freud was one of the first 'proper' designers I ever loved. I have fond memories of cutting out pictures of editorials featuring her designs for my scrap book and wishing I looked like Jane Birkin. So needless to say when I found she'd created a set of 3 perfumes, along with perfumer Azzi Glasser, I was very excited.

This is Bella Freud's first foray into the scent market and each perfume is named after slogans found of her massively popular jumpers, worn by the likes of Kate Moss and Alexa Chung. I was particularly keen to try Je t'aime Jane as it features night blooming jasmine - one of my most favourite smells on the planet.

Jetaimejane_1 Jane_1Jetaimejane_5 Jetaimejane_3When I received the bootle I was not diappointed. Je t'aime Jane is a feminine, girlish and supremely playful, and as well night blooming jasmine absolute, it also contains notes of ylang-ylang, orange blossom, tiger lily, black oud, sandalwood and musk.

The scent really does capture the feminine essence of Jane Birkin herself. Light but not so light as to disappear entirely and it's also beautiful when layered. I've been wearing it every single day since I got it. I've been a perfume slump lately and this has just reinvigorated me. I'll definitely be trying out the other 2 now and at £65 a bottle, I can buy all three. They scents are available to buy here.
