It's Thursday and I'm feeling a little whimsical today.

A little while ago I found and fell in love with this image on pinterest

It is by the wonderfully talented Andrea D'Aquino from New York City.

When talking about what has inspired her Andrea is grateful to have been exposed to everything from "Medieval art to Marcel Duchamp to Mark Rothko. From Fiorrucci, Fellini and Flemish portraits to the Partridge Family and Planet of the Apes. From Bananarama to Blondie to Jordache Jeans to the Jane Fonda Workout. Herbal Essences shampoo and Bonnie Bell Lipsmackers to JD Salinger and Hieronymous Bosch, Serge Gainsbourg, Soul Train and Jan Van Eyck" to name but a few!!!!!!!

Andrea has always resisted labels like "art director", "illustrator", "graphic designer" and finds herself happiest straddling the line between all those things. For the longest time, she was a senior art director for major advertising agencies.

Now as an illustrator and designer, clients include Anthropologie, The New York Times, Conde Nast Traveller, The Washington Post, Elle Magazine, One Kings Lane, Vegetarian Times, Family Fun, Chronicle Books, Uppercase, Flow Magazine, PlanSponsor Magazine, and many others.

Her work has been awarded by The Society of Ilustrators, American Illustration and the Type Director's Club and it's easy to see why!
