Miista Goes To Athens
Back late last year I was busy working away redesigning the new Miista website. I have worked with Miista since they began and they are by far my favourite client. The new site had a soft launch just before Christmas but now the full site is up and running.
It was a really fun site to design and because Miista are a forward thinking brand I was really able to create something fun and big.
The launch coincides with their latest collection for SS15, Future Athens, which sees Miista take a decidedly sporty turn.
"A utopian world inspired by a future recast of ancient Athens, that’s Miista SS15. It’s a place where female physical prowess is the driving force, where vitality is celebrated. Our muse is a combination of ideas. She is the universal woman, capable of doing anything, but she is also a collective. They compete but ultimately still complement one another."
The sporty element of the collection is inspired by pioneering women such as 60's skateboarder Patti McGee, skater/surfer for Z-Boys, Peggy Oki as well as Layne Beachley and Dara Torres.
The predominant colour palette is pale with mint, lavender, light blue and other pastel hues taking centre stage. The presence of strong black and white ground the pastels and lend them strength.
This is perhaps my favourite Miista collection to date. There is a plentiful mix of both flats and heels to choose from, which is exactly what makes Miista such a universal brand.
