ping and pong at proud mary...

It's not every day you check your invitations to find a crucifix carrying cuttlefish or a leather clad Sheena Easton!!!

Holy Moley, that caught my attention as did the notion of a late night Ping Pong Emporium opening up tonight in Queen Street in Glasgow. The notion of an emporium never fails to make me smile.

Say hello to Proud Mary...

After months of preparation Proud Mary, Glasgow's first table tennis bar opens at 25 Queen Street with a launch party offering dwellers tastes of their new cocktail and winter food menus and the chance to take on 2 Team Scotland,  2014 Commonwealth Games table tennis players Lynda Flaws & Corinna Whitaker from Drumchaple Table Tennis Club.

Music at the launch is provided by a host of Glasgow's best talent with Soma Record’s Silicone Soul headlining after Rob Etherson, one half of rising starts Mia Dora and Foto Records boss-man OFFT! AKA Ali Herron.

Glasgow's first Ping Pong emporium offers full sized table tennis tables with drinks packages for private events or walk-ins off the street in the same vein as popular London bar Bounce which has gone from strength to strength and is opening a 3rd branch stateside in Chicago this Spring.

It's safe to say social ping pong is on the rise.

That's a sentence I never expected to type!!!

If you are in town then bounce along and have yourself a game….
