the gift of time

I haven't worn a watch since I was 13, almost 30 years ago. Then laterally we all got mobile phones, which is how I always get the time nowadays.

It's strange that I don't own a watch as I'm very meticulous about time-keeping (lateness is the height of ill-manners, as far as I'm concerned) and as someone who is passionate about accessories of all sorts, it is quite odd I haven't investigated watches.  So when I was contacted by our friends over at Betty & Bee about their client Kochiba Watches, I was initially dismissive. Then I saw them. The watches are made of wood, which immediately made me much more interested. I could definitely imagine one these adorning my wrist.

With all the wooden goodness, I couldn't resist taking autumn inspired photos...

Kochiba is the creation of Glasgow based husband and wife duo, Niraj and Victoria Desai and launch earlier this year. However, aside from being made right here in Scotland, the brand want to give something back to the community by donating a portion of their profits to the charity Womankind. Narij explains their choice of charity;

From growing up in Africa, I was exposed to the unfair circumstances women suffer both locally and globally. Education and supporting communities is something at the heart of Womankind’s work, and Victoria and I wanted to be able to support it in any way possible. Womankind’s values, reach and track record is inspiring, and we’re proud to partner with them to raise money and awareness through our watches.

The watches range from a very modest £90 up to £120.
