The Only Way Is Up

So next weekend sees T in the Park relocate to Strathallan.

For lots of people that means they will already be stockpiling wet wipes and airing out their tents. I've never camped a day in my life, I just drive up and down to the comfort of my own bed each night but if ever there was a tent that could make you look at camping in a new way, it would have to be one of these created by those clever people over at Tentsile

For them, the only way is up and in their world the future of camping looks like this...

If you were to combine a hammock, a tent and a treehouse, you’d get a Tentsile Tent.

Trained architect Alex Shirley-Smith teamed up with product designer and co-inventor Kirk Kirchev, to help bring his concept of a portable, three anchor point suspended shelter to reality and hey presto Tentsile Tree tents were born...

Basically the Tree Tents were conceived as a treehouse that you can take anywhere. They offer an incredible new way for you and your friends to experience the great outdoors in style, unparalleled comfort, unrestricted by ground conditions and with increased separation from wetness, bumpiness, bugs and other creepies. Which lets be honest is exactly what you think of when you think camping.

You can see the whole range on their site here

Of course I have questions like how the hell do you get up there? ( I'm guessing some kind of ladder), what do you do if you need to get up in the middle of the night for a pee but all of those pesky practicalities aside, this looks like fun.

If I ever were to be tempted to camp, I would be swinging from the trees in one of these for sure.
