Let's all go to ellery...
Sometimes everything in the Universe seems to be pointing you in the same direction. The last couple of days, all roads seem to lead to Ellery and Bob Fosse!
At the weekend I was watching Sweet Charity which I followed up with All that Jazz and then ended up reading loads of stories about Bob Fosse. There was some crying. I followed that up with some serious sighing when I watched the Ellery Paris show, basically on a loop for the longest time.
Then yesterday an email dropped into The Kingdom inbox about the Fall 2016/17 Ellery collection, inspired by, yeah you guessed it Bob Fosse. Spooky...
Renowned choreographer Bob Fosse’s dance works played muse for. E L L E R Y . Pre-Fall’16. This has resulted in a collection that is both flamboyant and sophisticated.
Fosse was a visionary and highly provocative with his choreography style. His theatrical dance approach in the early 1970’s heavily influenced the collection through performance imagery as well as the actual movements of the dancers.
Silhouettes are both bold and structured, whilst at the same time fluid and feminine. Soft silk pussy bows juncture with stiff Japanese drill, punctuated with topstitching and glossy metal eyelets.
As a finishing treat, go make yourself a cup of tea then head over to Ellery and watch their Paris show. Holy Crap it's GLORIOUS. Just glorious...
