Sums Of All Parts

Please excuse this rather little post today - my work schedule is a bit hectic as I try to fit 5 days worth of work into 4 days this week. If there's one thing I have learned about working for yourself it's that work literally never ends! Even at night you still sit and answer emails or squeeze in small amends to design jobs.

Anyway, enough of that.

I want to share with you a jewellery brand called Parts of 4. Founded by designer, sculptor and installation artist Evan Sugerman, Parts of Four is a handmade jewellery line specialising in the "carving, fusing and treatment" of Minerals, Silver, Brass, Wood, Leather, Bone and other organic materials.

Evan has also collaborated with Rick Owens, for his SS13 collection.

As you may know, I love my jewellery rough and destroyed looking. Anything shiny and new doesn't really appeal to my tastes that much. The textural quality in Evan's work is definitely makes the pieces feel more sculptural than simply jewellery. Parts of 4 doesn't just doesn't just focus on jewellery, Evan also creates objects such as bowls, candle holders and gold dipped skulls (if you happen to have around £2000 going spare).

His work is definitely in the luxury realm - but whoever said blogs had to be filled with things we can actually afford? In Imagination Land, anything goes....
