Imagination Land

Things are tough for Prince B and I currently, and due to get tougher, but we keep our spirits up by imagining what it would be like if we had a different life and escaping into a pleasant little world where there are no worries.

In our imaginary life in my head, we have our own home. Currently, we stay in a rented flat, where the furniture isn't even ours and it's not my taste at all, but I can just imagine having my own space, with all the things I think are beautiful in it. I would love to decorate a home that was mine.

My personal taste in interiors is very much focused on lots of natural textures and a fairly neutral colour palette but that doesn't mean I'm not averse to using a little bit of colour here and there. These lovely bright and bold cushions and rugs by Kangan Arora would be perfect to add a little brightness to a neutral home.

Kangan grew up in India, where textiles have run in her family for more than 100 years. She went on to study at Central Saint Martins and the National Institute of Fashion, before establishing her brand in 2011.

She explains that her approach to her designs is Her approach is;

Typified by a celebratory use of colour, pattern and abstraction, while rooted in an appreciation of contrasting cultures and a rich tradition of visual storytelling.

Kangan has also been selected as one of '20 names to know' by Elle magazine and has designed exclusive collections for Heal’s and Urban Outfitters. Her work has been showcased at the V&A Museum, Southbank Centre and Milan Trienniale Design Museum.
