Gone Brogue
THE NOT-SO-HUMBLE BROGUE
Think brogues are for school children and men in ad agencies circa 1955? Think again.

The brogue has been given countless wonderful makeovers over the past few years, making them a serious wardrobe contender, even sometimes giving heels the push. I personally can't live without a good brogue, but never anything as simple as a classic black or brown. No, not me, I prefer my brogues with a bit more oomph. That might be some bold colour, a knot detail or even studs but never ever just plain.
Artém Atelier is a leather accessories label from Spain who create beautifully crafted, hand-made leather shoes and bags for very reasonable prices.
Designer, and founder of the label, Artém Khudoroshkov, studied at Moscow State University of Design and Technology, Faculty of Design of Footwear and Leather Articles. The designer went to Spain and decided the home for his label would be Barcelona, where he has learned about the tradition and craftsmanship of working with leather.
Khudoroshkov says that “nowadays inspiration can be found as much in what we have around us, as in the most surprising and unusual things in life, such as nature and architecture, modern and classical art, the crafts, culture and traditions of peoples around the world.” The influence of his Mediterranean surroundings has clearly infiltrated his collection of shoes and bags, as we see a beautiful palette of sea blues, scorched earth tones and cactus shades of green.
