where is she now?

Look. Look over there. Stranger Things 2 is almost here...

No one could have predicted the effect Stranger Things would have on us all. They way we were all instantly smitten and totally drawn in to their world.

For the rare creature that is yet to see it , this show is basically a love letter to the '80s classics that captivated a generation. Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

The first series was a HUGE hit for Netflix. According to Variety, viewing figures averaged 14.07m adults aged 18-49 in the first 35 days after it was released.

With that kind of audience demographic, it was doubtless a no brainer for Topshop and Topman to collaborate with Netflix to produce a range of clothing themed around the show – sort of merchandise for the series. In-jokes are rife. One T-shirt features the Upside Down – the alternate dimension featured in the show – while a backpack has patches for Hawkins Middle School AV Club, attended by the characters in the show.

Launched on October 20th there is even a  Stranger Things ‘takeover’ in the brand’s stores in London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester in the run-up to Halloween. This includes immersive – slightly terrifying – sets. In the Oxford Circus store, there will be the Hawkins lab, the wooded den created by the main character Will and, of course, the Upside Down. An area will be set up to watch episodes the night before its debuted on Netflix. “We’re always thinking about how we can create an experience,” says Sheena Sauvaire, director of marketing and communications at Topshop. “Stranger Things has cultural relevance and its very much a part of the zeitgeist.”

The 28 piece capsule collection of clothing and accessories has several retro style tees in various colours, two sweatshirts, two caps, two backpacks and two lunch boxes.

So now there are only 2 questions before Friday -

1. Do I binge watch or take my time?

2. Where's Barb? Where is she now? please don't say she's still all alone in the Upside Down...
