everyday luxury...

You never forget your first blue box.

The thrill of pulling on that white ribbon to reveal the treasure within.

The wonderful sb was responsible for my first magical Tiffany moment and I still cherish the contents of my precious blue boxes.

But now Tiffany are taking a different approach to luxury - everyday luxury.

They now have an "Everyday Objects" section on its website where it has launched a collection of unremarkable objects ranging from paper plates to pencil sharpeners, only they are handcrafted in sterling silver, tiffany blue enamel and wood, turning them from typical every day objects to functional works of art...

The company explained the collection saying it was "born out of the notion that beautiful things should not be limited to special occasions," adding that the "covetable accessories possess a whimsical wink that is quintessentially Tiffany."

Whimsical they may be but I don't imagine many of us could spring £615 for an egg timer, £235 for a crazy straw or £330 for a playful pill container...

Most luxurious of all has to be the solid silver ball of yarn, one of only 5 produced at an eyewaterinwg £8475.  Meow...

Some people are scoffing but I've no doubt that a lot of these things will fly out of the door as corporate gifts this Christmas. In fact when I had another wee look just now, lots of things re already sold out
