what's the time charlie brown?
Many moons ago, my very first job was as a trainee Tax Officer with the Inland Revenue. I hated it. I cried in the stationery cupboard at least one a week. One thing I did like though was my trainer Danny who was one of the kindest and funniest boys around.
When he and his friend Brian transferred offices for an adventure in London I was very sad. At his leaving party he gave me his yellow snoopy watch. I wore that thing until it fell apart.
So it made me very happy to see that Timex have relaunched their Peanuts collection.
While many of the original watches were initially designed to teach children to tell time, pieces in this new edition (which are on sale now and retail for £59 each) have been made specifically for adult wrists.
The watches are based on the vintage-inspired Timex Weekender style, with its easy-to-change, military-inspired nylon NATO strap system. The straps also coordinate with aspects of the featured character’s personal style: Charlie Brown has his signature yellow and black zig-zag, Linus gets red stripes, Snoopy’s red strap matches his hat, and crabby Lucy Van Pelt has clouds...
The dials also features INDIGLO glow-in-the-dark readability., which is perfect for old eyes like mine...
Much as I love Snoopy, Lucy and Linus, I think it's going to have be a Charlie Brown watch for me. LIft you hands up Charlie...
