Floral Fascination
FLORAL? FOR AUTUMN?
GROUNDBREAKING.
Perhaps Miranda Priestley would approve of florals that aren't for spring, who knows. But florals for autumn make far more sense to me that they ever do for spring. I mean, it's spring, we're surrounded by real flowers! As my dark summer is coming to an end (although I feel this time round it won't disappear entirely, it'll just have colourful interludes), my eyeballs have been naturally drawn to more colourful pieces of late. And this time it's taken the form of a floral fascination. Tune into the next outfit post for the evidence.
JILL STUART + BROCK
A couple of resort looks from Jill Stuart and Brock have caught my attention. Not the brands in general, as both are a tad too vanilla for me, but rather a few specific looks which are ticking my floral boxes.
Sheer or paired with ruffles, these autumn flowers are looking mighty fresh.
Sheer floral reminds me of my youth. In the early 90's my absolute favourite dress was a sheer floral baby doll dress. It was the most precious item of clothing I owned. Obviously back then every alternative girl wanted to dress like Courtney Love, with her fucked up babydoll dresses and maryjanes, and that dress gave me many wonderful riot girl moments. It was worn on some of my best nights out too and my first ever Glastonbury festival. I as devastated when it finally ripped. You can bet your ass I've been looking for another since.
These Jill Stuart pieces are the grown up versions. I wore my dress with army boots at the time, this time my Balenciaga Ceinture boots would be perfect to create the luxury version of 18 year old me.
