MARRAS SERVES UP A DELICIOUS CONCOCTION OF MIXED MATERIALS

I have risen! I'm finally on the mend from the dreaded lurgy. I haven't been that ill for a long time. I still have swollen and painful sinuses but that's a walk in the park compared to how I felt earlier in the week. Now when I put makeup up I don't look like like I'm painting a corpse.

To help mend further, it never hurts to surround yourself with inspiration. And Italian designer Antonio Marras is giving me plenty of that. How we love Marras in the Kingdom. I only own one piece from the designer, which I've had for years, but it's earned it's keep a bunch of times over and will continue to do so for many years to come.

The massive ready to wear 2018 collection is rammed with texture and colour. Like Dries Van Noten, Marras is a master at concocting unexpected mixes of fabrics in his collections.  I adore the asymmetrically draped tulle, the mix of heritage checks with florals and the embroidered semi-sheer dress worn over the checked shirt. There is basically just tons to be inspired by here.

I also didn't realise that my life is meaningless without a full length polka dot tea dress.
