Desert Rosewood...

You know how we feel about fragrance here in The KIngdom.

It is essential for life.

Like tea, toast and cake.

The other week oor Frances, drove me to Scentsations of Troon to choose a new birthday perfume.

This unsuspecting little shop is a total gem, filled to the roof with treasure and lots of things I had never tried before. I was like a kid in sweet shop. I honestly couldn’t choose.

I almost settled on Assam of India by Berdoues which I liked. Much lighter than what I would normally wear. But then I looked up and spotted the Desert Rosewood!

Even just looking at the bottle I could tell I was going to like what was inside.

Holy Crap. I LOVED what was inside.

Dense and delicious. Once I sprayed it on my wrist, I almost wanted to bite my own arm off.

“This unusual resinous and comforting leathery fragrance reveals an exceptional encounter between a rainbow of woods and the spectacular Australian desert under the burning sun”

It is made by Goldfield and Banks who I had never heard of.

The scent of Australia is just as characteristic of the country as its vast coastlines, dense forests and endless red dusty plains. Yet few luxury perfume brands have tried to capture this essence. Until Goldfield & Banks Australia, that is. Developed with Dimitri Weber, a Melbourne-based 5th-generation French perfumer, each Goldfield & Banks perfume is made from essences drawn from the Australian terrain and the finest ingredients from across the globe. The result is an olfactory journey for the modern, curious explorer, so join us on a discovery with Goldfield & Banks!

Even their product packaging is inspired by the dynamic Australian landscape, from the dark box that captures the deep blackness of the night’s sky, to the dramatic edges of the Banksia leaf cast on the bottle label and the heritage stamp of the bottle lid.

If you love your smells a little on the unusual side, you need to check them out.
