Folk Tale

I’ve been struck down with the lurgy since last week so please excuse this short post today. Dragging my ass out of bed was hard enough without attempting to also blog something profound or even remotely interesting!

In Scotland it seems to be getting colder instead of warmer as we move towards summer. Don’t know why I seem so surprised by this - we’ve even had snow in May before. But to be honest, I’m just really, really sick of being cold. I’m sick of wearing a huge parka. I’m sick of wearing a hat. I’m over autumn and winter.

I’ve been keeping positive by thinking about all the lovely things I’ll wear for summer, of which you know white broderie anglaise is top of the list. I’ve actually been wearing lots of my summer things already just by adding thigh high boots, PVC trousers or plenty of leather.

I have been gathering my inspiration in anticipation of summer and revisited the SS14 collection from Meadham Kirchhoff. The collection is a gleeful mix of references, as they they were always prone to doing, but it’s the embroidered, folksy pieces that are providing me the inspiration.
