Captvating
A little post before Prince B and I head down to England to visit sunny Bristol. It’s unlikely anyone reading is from there, but if you are please hit me up with any shop recommendations.
I must be feeling jewellery right now as this is my second post in a row that features the shiny stuff. That must mean I have a jewellery purchase pending and I don’t know it yet! This time I’m featuring a brand from Montreal called Captve, designed by Jade Boutilier. Captve pulls inspiration from all corners of history. Using the lost wax process, each piece is hewn in wax then cast in sterling silver, bronze or gold.
It’ll be no surprise I’m most drawn to the textural pieces from the collection entitled Ruin. As the title suggest, each piece looks like a ruinous building with it’s exposed and destroyed aspect sitting next to the smooth and intact. But there are other beautiful collections, such as the skulls from the Galenus collections, to the cluster of hands from the Manus collection, to the delicate but deadly carnivorous plants featured in the Lure collection. Truly something for every taste.
