Hello Inner Hippy. We Meet Again.

Both Queen Marie and I are very much in touch with our inner hippies.

My own hippy tendencies date back to when i was 18 and my then boyfriend and I would spend our days making jewellery together, shopping in places that smelled of incense and dancing in the summer sun at Glastonbury festival. We were carefree and happy. That was when my love of the long white dress first appeared too. There were fleeting instances of it during my earlier goth period, but it came into its own during my hippy era.

The hippy part of me was, and still is, driven by Ian Astbury of The Cult. The velvet, the jewellery, the conchos, fringes and western details. The hair, the leather…well you can see why he inspires my inner hippy so much.

My friend Enya, who’s a photographer and videographer, wanted to do a photoshoot with me so it was the perfect chance to shoot an outfit I’ve been wearing, featuring a beautiful sequinned velvet dress from Zara and plenty of Astbury worthy accessories.
