What happens in Vegas...

You know the old saying -what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

That suits me just fine!

I’ve just finished reading about the $100,000 per night hotel suite that Damien Hirst has finished desgining for the The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Ughhhh.

Named ‘The Empathy Suite’ , Hirsts input is everywhere from furniture and textiles that incorporate his designs, to six large-scale original artworks. The most dramatic involves two bull sharks suspended in formaldehyde in a white tank, called Winner/Loser.

The Palms reopened last year following extensive renovation work, which involved adding art by names including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Takashi Murakami.

I’ve never been a fan of his work but this leaves me colder than those poor dead pickled sharks.

I’ve no doubt they get ‘high rollers’ who would want to stay here but honestly who is thinking about gambling at a time like this. It’s available for free for guests with over $1 million (£758,890) in credit at the resort, or anyone else that can splash out $200,000 (£151,753) for a two-night stay.

I cant help but think I would need to take a lots of the drugs from this medicine cabinet artwork if I was ever to get a wink of sleep in this place…

I don’t know about you but my own cozy bed is looking pretty wonderful and inviting compared to this.

Think I shall go and have a small afternoon snooze…
