OfR
Last post of 2020. What a fucking year, to put it mildly. I think we’ve all suffered in some way during this pandemic. And with Christmas pretty much cancelled in the UK now too, the last few weeks of 2020 looking are looking pretty grim. So I’m finishing up the year with some pretty jewellery because why the hell not.
Jewellery designer Olga Košica and graphic designer Rok Mar are the creative pair behind the Slovenian based jewellery label OfR. Influenced by contemporary art, sculpture, painting and nature. What I find most interesting is that some of their work is 3D printed then sometimes plated in bronze , gold or rhodium. OfR got the attention of the industry when their Winter Garden and Lucid Dream collections were picked by Masha Ma to be shown at the Paris Fashion Week. Since then, their work has been featured in numerous editorials, they were chosen among 10 jewellery finalists in the 13th international competition ITS in Trieste, Italy, and received Elle Style Award for best accessory designer in 2014.
Everything is also pleasingly large. No little delicate rose earrings for these guys. But my favoyrite pieces by far, and not surprisingly, are the giant silver safety pin chokers. Oh my, my neck would thank me for one of those bad boys!
So let me finish by wishing you all a happy holiday season. It might not be exactly as you planned, in fact it might be a piece of crap, but remember it’s a moment in time and like all moments, this one will pass too. Let’s just hope it passes sooner rather than later.
Also thank you to all of you who take the time to comment and get involved in the blog. You’re the reason we are still doing it. Knowing you are out there, and taking the time to interact with us truly means the world to us.
In the words of Scottish comedian Janey Godley, put on your emotional life jackets and keep each other afloat.
See you next year xx
