Jeepers Peepers

When I discovered I needed reading glasses, I was pretty gutted. Not that I’d need to wear glasses but just that part of my body was failing me. When it comes to doing things physically, “I can’t” simply isn’t in my vocabulary. But I really can’t fight failing eyesight. However, I look upon glasses an another accessory option to be explored.

When I first got my eyes tested in 2018, I bought a pair of Moschino cat eye glasses, which I totally love, but I now realise my prescription is wrong as I’ve never been able to really read with them. I wasn’t sure, having never had glasses, if it was because my eyes needed to adjust but I now realise they’ve just got the prescription wrong. So I ended up buying cheap magnification glasses you buy in places like Boots. Turns out I can see way better with those than my prescription ones and I’m just sticking with those.

The ones from Boots aren’t exactly my style though so after some research I found an amazing glasses shop called Retropeepers that specialise in sunglasses and opticals in retro and vintage style frames. Hello cat-eye heaven! They do other retro style frames too though, not just cat eye.

I have bought these frames so far, called Ava. They are extremely beautiful and only cost £56 all in.

The shop also carry other brands, such as Miu Miu and glasses range from £25 up to £125.

When I was browsing the shop again I saw these beautiful chunky cat eye sunglasses called the Cool Cat sunglasses.

Now, I have a lot of sunglasses this shape already but I decided to chance my luck and ask them if they could put in magnification lenses for me instead so I could wear them as reading glasses instead of sunglasses and they happily agreed! So I’m just awaiting these beauties arriving.
