Keep your hands out of the fire..

You know what they say -

“Keep your hands out of the fire if you don’t want to get burned”

So what the hell was I doing prowling around the Matches site when there is a massive sale on.

Temptation. So much temptation. I should know better.

So it’s kind of ironic that little hands feature on the two items I want most. Namely a cotton tote bag and poplin top from Craig Greens SS20 collection. I love love love his work

Zoroastrian anatomical drawings – a practice from one of the world's oldest religions – inspired Craig Green’s SS20 runway show and this dusty-pink tote bag taps the conceptual mood. It’s crafted from puckered cotton-blend canvas, a label signature, then overlaid with purple satin panelling and buttoned hand-shaped patches embroidered to mimic the male form.

I don’t know about you but I had to google “Zoroastrian anatomical drawings”

Green explores how human anatomy links humans together across cultures for SS20 and this khaki-green Body hooded top echoes the intriguing embroidery presented on the runway. It’s accented by navy satin panels which coordinate with the detachable hand-shaped tabs dangling from the cuffs and is finished with a coordinating waist tie.

The dangling little hands remind me of my mum putting a string on my gloves and threading them through my sleeves. Wonderful.

What is appealing to me most if of course the ‘folksy’ style of the embroidery.

I’m such a sucker for stitching like this.

Oh how I want this bag but even if I was buying things right now I can’t justify £160 for a tote bag.

*sigh*
