Talk to the trees...

Hello and Happy New Year.

I don’t know about you but I feel like heading into the woods and not coming out until at least the Spring.

We’ve all been finding our own ways of dealing with lockdown and the shit show that was last year. Some people like Queen Michelle and Ell have used the time to get fitter, slimmer and stronger. Sadly I can’t say I have been the same.

However at the tail end of the year, I was overcome with the need to get out and spend some time with trees. Not just admire them on a walk through the park or through my car window but actually out into woodlands.

Luckily the one thing we are not short of in Scotland is woods and trees. So our Frances and I have started exploring our local trees.

I had read a lot about Forest Bathing last year and thought it was something I would really like to do. Wandering in and around the trees both large and small, looking up at the canopy, you are so caught up in them that you are not thinking about anything else. Which is a blessing to be sure.

Several of our dear friends including the lovely Linda B have lost loved ones due to Covid in the last few weeks. As I walk across the crunchy leaves, I’m thinking of you all and lifting you up in prayer.

Sending big love from the forest straight to you.

Queen Marie
