All the clockwork colours...
Forget a Clockwork Orange, for the Moschino Pre-fall 2022 collection, Jeremy Scott is giving you ALL the colours.
I’m not usually a huge fan of his work but this is pretty spectacular.
So much colour and playfulness in these dark times when it feels although we will never escape from the clutches of Covid.
For the eye popping pieces he cited Op Art pioneer Victor Vasarely’s trippy illusions, painter Richard Lindner’s fractured figures and Allen Jones’ bondage sculptures as inspirations. Two of his favourite films, “A Clockwork Orange” and “Blade Runner,” were also included, inspiring the bowler hats and the models’ exaggerated eye makeup. Which is both striking and slightly sinister like a pop art take on kabuki make up
The tailoring and uniform pieces — officers’ jackets, sailor suits, riding pants, uniform dresses and trenchcoats were all colour saturated blocks that stop you in your tracks.
"I wanted to take…military codes and things that are so staid and formal, but do them in candy bonbon colors and make them feel more playful and surreal”

Mission accomplished I would say…
