Projection

The human is double in its ability to project itself. He knows how to intellectualize the difference between the image he makes of his body, and the one he wants to give. The garment comes to build and support the body: it imitates it. In doing so, the suit physically confronts the image with the physical body. Its existence makes tangible the projections and fantasies associated with the body.
— INGRID SHIRINE HOBAYA

Ingrid Shirine Hobaya hails from Paris and studied at Duperré University, graduating in 2011. Her pieces have that beautiful de/constructed aspect I love, mixing fabrics to create an almost multi-dimensional illusion.

From the fabric work through print conception until shape definition, Ingrid Shirine Hobaya conceives every step of her collections and makes them herself.

She dares to take the time to produce unique and accomplished garments. Her savoir-faire is born from different encounters and experiments. She is asserting her taste for “deep and elegant work” in every order she receives.
