All at Sea...
Hello there.
I realise I have a nerve showing you wooly hats and coats when we are yet to see a proper summer yet.
When I think of the NYC label Sea, I normally think of their easy breezy dresses but for Fall 21 it’s the coats and jackets that have really caught my attention.
Monica Paolini and Sean Monahan create pieces that resemble the perfect vintage find. Quilting, embroidery, big sleeves and lots of lovely ruffles.
I also absolutely love that they have used the one model throughout all the campaign images and that it looks like the shots have all been taken in a high school. The fact that the models face is tripping her also made me laugh.
Sea is born out of the friendship between childhood friends Sean Monahan and Monica Paolini.
Together, they share a vision that is distinctively Sea—combining Monica’s eye for vintage-feeling pieces and Sean’s leaning towards more modern, clean styles.
Their considered perspective forms an aesthetic that is quietly inviting and elegantly balanced.
Classic silhouettes with a distinctive use of lace, embroidery, knits and technical fabrics result in collections that are at once both effortless and optimistic, romantic and boyish.
Some of these are right up Our Laura’s street. I could easily see her in these.
If you are smitten like me then you should head over to moda operandi who seems to have lots and lots of it for sale right now.
