Bag and Board...

Street Style and Hermes are not normally two words I would put in the same sentence but at their Spring/Summer 2022 show at Paris fashion week, they seemed happy to continue to combine luxury and streetwear.

This time with the integration of a skateboard deck into its newly interpreted Bolide bag.

The board acting as the base to the bag, this is an entirely new look for the Bolide bag which has always shown all-leather craftsmanship.

This isn’t the first time the house has looked toward skater culture, they launched their first skateboard range in 2017 with prices from $3700.

I’m sure I’m not the only one for whom this does not sit well.

Whilst I appreciate that artistic director Véronique Nichanian has used the board to help convey a carefree spirit through meticulously crafted items, it feels like it flies in the face of everything that skating is about.
