On the wings of Vuitton...
Last week fashion had a major MOMENT.
Sadly Andre Leon Talley wasn’t there to see it. He would have adored it.
I knew that watching Virgil Abloh’s last show for Louis Vuitton was gong to be emotional so I waited until Friday night to watch it. It was just as well because there was lots of weeping as I watched.
The collection was 96% finished at the time of his death and he had planned the show down to every last detail. He must have been looking down and smiling watching it unfold.
The orchestra, the set, the models and when his team walked on at the end. Heaven alone knows how it must have felt to actually be there in the room. Bless them all, emotions ran high as they honoured him.
The score by Tyler the Creator was arranged by Arthur Verocai; Gustavo Dudamel conducted a live performance by the Chineke! orchestra, who sat at a baby blue banquet table during the show creating a soundscape that spirited you away to another world.
I’m not going to say any more other than - YOU MUST WATCH THIS.
You too will be transported to another realm…
With the further sad news yesterday of Thierry Mugler’s passing, it’s very clear that heaven is going to need more catwalk space…
