From one century to the next...

It’s no secret or surprise that the Zara Atelier collections are being so very well received.

The first ones which were very Sacai in style, looked like they had totally been designed and made specifically with Queen Michelle in mind. She was very smitten as everything was totally up her street.

Now with these latest looks they have crossed over to my side of this street. The folkloric side.

Stretching across time from the 1920’s to 2022, these richly embellished coats and ponchos almost look like pieces of costume designed for the Ballet Russe

It will come as no surprise that this poncho below took my breath away. With frayed edges, metallic thread and rich jewel like tapestry fabric, I have had to hide my bank card in a drawer to stop me buying this.

Sadly I’m struggling to justify £295 for it.

Also tugging hard on my heartstrings is this stunning embroidered cape coat which almost looks like a piece of national costume from a far away Kingdom.

The long sleeves with jacquard cuffs trimmed are with frayed gold satin trim while diamanté detailing with floral motifs embroidered with mixed half stitching and velvet appliqués. The neckline embellished with black passementerie trim. Yum yum yum.

Every piece is so special I could almost picture Anna Pavlova in them…
