A tempting tub...
Unlike Queen Michelle who takes a relaxing soak every night, I’m not a bath person.
I’m a straight in and straight out of the shower kind of person. Sometimes if I have aches and pains I consider taking a bath but it never happens.
I wonder if I would change my mind if I had a spectacular bath like this latest creation from Lusso.
Working on marketing brochures for new homes I see a lot of new kitchens and bathrooms and most of them are so mundane and dull that they barely even register. This new tub however did catch my attention. Not available until June this year, this is the Amore, a freestanding bathtub made of translucent resin that is designed to cast a dramatic impression and we all know what a sucker I am for perspex, resin and all things plastic…
Designed by Lusso founder Wayne Spriggs, the Amore tub has a curved capsule shape with straight sides and is available in a choice of two colours: Smoked Black or Rich Amber red.
A completely new concept to Lusso, the Amore Freestanding Amber Resin Bath is a fusion of innovation and excellent design. Crafted from rich Amber resin, the tub displays a transparent surface, with a curvaceous shape that will slot seamlessly into many modern interior themes. The transparent bathtub is 1700mm in size and weighs less than the average stone bath, making it the perfect alternative for those in search of something lighter. The bath can be beautifully paired with a black freestanding bath tap from the Lusso collection or for a striking contrast, brushed stainless works beautifully.
As a testament to its qualities, the Amore bath comes with a lifetime guarantee. Which I should jolly well hope it does given that it costs £2,377 without the taps …
Founded in North East England in 2014, Lusso has gained international acclaim, and become synonymous with exceptional quality and flawless craftsmanship, providing luxury bathrooms, furniture, homewares, fixtures and fittings to private homes and luxury hotels.
Much as I admire the resin bath above, I can’t say I feel the same about this round one below. The Palais round matte black bath, looks to me like a giant oversized dog bowl.
If money was no object than of course you could take the marble option but would you really feel comfortable spending more than £12K on a bath!!!
