So much more than a show...

With the glittering night sky above him and the shining lights of Paris all around, Pharrell Williams created magic last night.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from his first collection for Louis Vuitton but with a full orchestra, a gospel choir and an entire bridge as a a runway, what happened was so much more than a catwalk show it was a convergence.

A convergence of music, entertainment, marketing and fashion, where clothes were just one part of the whole experience. Not so much a fashion show but show business!

The theme of the show was joy.

I also had the feeling of watching a fundamental shift in what we expect from a Creative Director a high fashion house where it seems that their ability to create both a vibe and an overarching creative vision are almost more important than the clothes themselves…
