Hey Ray...

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about speakers.

But holy moly these guys are worth they wait.

Say hello to Ray…

Davone Audio Ray Speakers are housed in a bowed walnut wood veneer and set atop metal legs. Similar in color, design and style to the iconic lounge chair by Charles and Ray Eames, the speakers are named “Ray” a delightful playful nod to the designers of the famous chair.

Midcentury Modern designers Ray and Charles Eames produced some of my favourite ever chairs including their most iconic piece of furniture, The Eames Lounge and Ottoman.

They were released in 1956, and since then have spawned countless generations of other products made of molded plywood and leather.

Influenced by the iconic modern style, Davone have created these ‘ray-s’ speakers to embrace old world craftsmanship with the most advanced audio technology on the market.
These speakers are handmade out of curved laminated pieces of beech wood veneer, leather baffles and black steel stands, all using Danish craftsmanship. The curvature of wood provides firmness than other fibre board music systems, leather baffles offer unique look and even diffraction, and its solid steel stand gives elegant support to the speaker.

The speaker features a three way speaker system with an eight inch bass, that produces detail and depth in every note.  They eliminated parallel surfaces to help reduce internal cancellations of sound.  The eight inch hand built paper woofer with symmetrical motors, stay stiff through the entire stroke and the off centre mounting of the tweeter and midrange drivers give a more stable in-room feedback than traditional tower speakers. the one inch thick water cut solid steel stand provides elegant support of the speaker.

You don’t need to know all that technical stuff to just appreciate how sodding gorgeous they are and if you are anything like me you will now be scheming how you could possibly justify such a purchase. To be honest every speaker that Davone produces is a thing of style and sonic beauty…

Have a good weekend everyone.

Queen Marie
