Raw Meet

When it comes to jewellery, my tastes definitely run raw - dark, patinated silver, uncut, unpolished crystals, and textured, organic appearing metal all define the aspects I look for in jewellery. For that reason, I was thrilled to come across Raw Taste, based out of Montreal in Canada.

Sasha Cherovsky , the designer behind Raw Taste, states that "skin, unisex, orphic, bold, dark, contrast, crystals, symmetry, asymmetry, contradictions, sensuality, unconventional, neo noir, sharp and raw" are the recurring keywords in her practice and they are all definitely the trigger words that ignite my own desires when it comes to shopping for jewellery.

She makes pieces that encompass all those qualities. Nature fuels her inspiration as it is so her work is rich in symbolism and esoteric qualities. She values "quality over quantity, uniqueness over conventional and spiritual energy over emptiness". 

You can also shop Raw Taste with a clear conscience as each piece is created made using refined silver since Cherovsky is a Mining Watch Canada supporter, whose goal is to change mining practices to ensure the health of individuals, communities and ecosystems. And all the leather that used in is supplied from fellow designers to give life to scraps that would otherwise be thrown out.
