Wide A.W.A.K.E.
A.W.A.K.E. is a London based label created by designer Natalia Alaverdian which stands for All Wonderful Adventures Kindle Enthusiasm and is my latest crush. There is nothing here that isn't absolutely spectacular. I love volume, but on a budget it's incredibly hard to find, so when I find myself inspired by pieces like this, it requires I get my best crafty DIY hat on and attempt to recreate a similar look and feel.
There is definitely an element of Comme des Garcons in there but more feminine and floral which, for me, is the absolutely perfect mixture.
The clashing of floral print and stripes is a combination I have loved forever. I remember making a striped strapless top and adding floral iron applique all over it and, for it's naivety, it was my most favourite 'going out' top. There is a a photo of me somewhere DJing wearing it with my favourite bootcut Seven For All Mankind jeans. Yup, bootcut - it was the early 00's afterall.
In the case of A.W.A.K.E., Natalia has layered her stripes and florals with separates, to utterly beautiful effect. The cropped floral trench and the longer version are giving me major lust feels. However, this camel trench-coat top is the stuff of my dreams!
Sadly at £800, in my dreams is exactly where it will remain.
You can find A.W.A.K.E. at Matches, Browns and Avenue 32.
