get up and go...
I blame the weather.
My get up and go has got up and went.
I am tired, emotional and so lacking in enthusiasm that when I looked at the images from Agnes Nordenholz for Autumn Winter 16/17, my first thought was - I would like to lie on that floor...
The german born Agnes Schorer is the creative mind behind AGNES NORDENHOLZ.
Created in 2015 and based in Berlin (I'm so overdue for another visit to Berlin, it's not even funny!) the brand stands for forwardthinking yet understated collections and is known for it´s unique handbags, often combining leather, loden and fur. When I look at these pieces all I can think is "Oooh stripey and snuggly"
Agnes was born and raised in Tübingen, Germany. She headed to Vienna to become a trained dressmaker and to study fashion design at the university of applied arts in Vienna under Marc Bohan, Helmut Lang and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. After 14 years as a co-founder and designer of the label Hartmann Nordenholz, Agnes moved to Berlin to go `back to the roots´ and to continue her work under the name AGNES NORDENHOLZ, Nordenholz being the maiden name of her grandmother.
One of her greatgrandfathers was born in Berlin. He worked as a merchant in the woolbusiness for one of the biggest European wool companies. Another one was a leather tanner and later on trader for leather goods. It seems natural, that her favorite materials are wool, leather and lambskin and that the sheep is in the center of her attention
The collection autumn winter 2016/17 continues the theme of `The Line´, showing results of experimenting combinations of fabrics with a strict graphical approach.
The main fabrics are 100% traditional Austrian Loden, 100% ecological cotton, leather, sheepfur and lambskin.
Now try telling me if are feeling a little tired today, you wouldn't like to go for a snooze on that floor right now!
