Made In Italy
We are big fans of Ports 1961 here in the Kingdom.
Currently at the helm is Natasa Cagalj. Whilst the brand is based in London, she actually held her first runway show for the brand in Milan last season since the collection is actually made in Italy, which she makes proud reference of in this Resort collection by emblazoning "made in Italy" on many pieces, from being embroidered on shirts, to integrated into woven stripes and in suit lining.
I'm still not over red, so needless to say those pieces are exciting me as well as the playful patchwork which runs as a common thread throughout the collection. Patches of jacquard and stripes find themselves placed nonchalantly on crisp white shirts, and normally hippy-esque blanket weaving is given a cool remix on wide trousers with hems kept raw and typography running along the sides.
The silhouettes are refined and elegant but she adds a roughness to many of them by retaining the raw selvages of fabrics, exactly as they come off the roll.
Needless to say, I want one of everything please.
