Girlfriend In A Koma
THE LOOK OF A DIRTY, BLACK SUMMER
_________________
Well, if there was one look that summed up my entire dirty, black summer it would have to be this one by David Koma from his Resort 2018 collection. Talk about dream outfits! Sheer, black, feathers, studs and single shoulder details - this one has it all.
Koma burst onto the scene back in 2010 with his first catwalk collection which featured body con dresses with lego-like beaded embellishments. Having won the Harrods Design award with his 2009 MA graduate collection at Central Saint Martins, the young Georgian designer has quietly gone from strength to strength, honing himself a signature style of circular cutouts and body hugging silhouettes. I was recently looking back at the blog - as i mentioned, we will be 11 years old soon - and I wrote about Koma way back in 2009, saying that "if you haven't heard the name David Koma, you will very soon" and here I am all these years later featuring him again.
The Resort 2018 collection, as well as featuring my dream look, also features some really wearable pieces such as the studded leather shift dress and ballerina-esque body suits and with flippy, ruffled scuba skater skirts sometimes punctuated with dotted silk tulle.
