travels with my teacakes...

There are few biscuits more synonymous with Scotland than a Tunnocks Teacake (shortbread withstanding). I adore the look of the mighty teacake, it's crunchy chocolate top giving way to the creamy mallow. Although sacrilege it may be to say so, I have never liked the base. Mary Berry would declare it suffering badly from  a soggy bottom. There is always something a little mushy about it that puts me off.

But of course I digress. Many crafters and talented makers have used the humble teacake as inspiration. The most obvious and celebrated perhaps Gillian Kyle. Who of course we have featured here many times. Her tote bags, tea towels and prints must adorn many homes now.

But Gillian has taken the teacake to another level or should that be another place. She' s turned it into a suitcase

Now you can stand out from the crowd and celebrate your Scottishness, wherever you are in the world. This stunning Gillian Kyle suitcase comes in a variety of size options and is adorned with Gillian’s intricately-drawn illustrations. From Plain bread to majestic stags or little scottie dogs, with these fabulous cases you will be the envy of the baggage carousel...

Queen Michelle is in Aberdeen with Prince B visiting The Duchess until Wednesday, so I shall attempt to keep it all together until her return.

In the meantime, I just need to think of somewhere to take a trip too and get that cabin case ordered up
