Fire and Ice..

It’s not always easy trying to get into the mindset of a teenager when it comes to picking Christmas gifts.

Money, makeup or something slightly gross always seems to work best. This Eleven bleeding nose candle from Firebox will do the job perfectly.

After a series of harrowing experiments in a shady forest laboratory... we finally managed to make this ornament bleed from the nose.

The Eleven Bleeding Nose Candle is easily the strangest thing we've ever created. Simply melt the red candle inside this hefty ceramic bust, and 'blood' will trickle out of her nostrils – just like she's overexerted herself during a psychokinetic episode.

Depending on her mood; other abilities may include – crushing coke cans, making bullies wet themselves and generally warding off creatures from the upside-down.

This giant ornament comes with two red candles and we've even included a handy 'nose picker' tool in case she gets a blockage.

The candle takes care of the ‘fire’ part of the post. For the ‘ice’ part, -I’m off to Iceland on Thursday.

Eeek.

It’s going to be cold and dark and wondeful.

One of the first things I’m going to do is visit Hallgrimskirkja (Hallgrimur’s Church), Reykjavik’s iconic Lutheran church and go to the very top of the tower.

I predict I may be having a nosebleed myself.

Rising up from the hilltop Skolavorduholt in the centre of the city, this church stands 250 feet tall and is visible from twelve miles away, dominating the skyline.

Designed by State Architect Guojon Samuelsson and commissioned in 1937, the church was imagined to resemble the mathematical symmetry of volcanic Basalt after it has cooled.

There are only 4 hours of daylight at this time of year. The sun doesn’t rise until 11am but the darkness means that we will have a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

As for the cold, I’ll be fine. I’m from Scotland after all.

Will report back on my return next week.
