That 70's Show
There are just so many brand and label out there we rarely get to hear about. They plod along their merry way, just creating and doing their thing. Many have been around for a long time but unless you live in the country the brand originates, you might not get to hear about them.
Nili Lotan hails from New York and is one of those brands that is quietly popular there, with several stores, but not one you really hear about, unless you hawk shops like Net-A-Porter and other luxury online portals.
Currently, as my last personal style post mentioned, I am really feeling a 70’s vibe. Not the tacky brightly patterned 70’s students favour, but something more elegant and pulled together. For me, the era encompasses that period of transition between the 70’s and 1980/81, where silhouettes are floaty, flared, and floral but also neat, lean, and tailored, but with a Patty Smith nonchalance.
Nili Lotan is prohibitively expensive - no one needs £400 jeans - but it’s more the aesthetic sentiment which can be bought for far less and look every bit as good. Head to your local vintage shop and you’ll scoop most of these looks for a tenth of the price.
