I Heart Hertzel
You’d assume that during lockdown I would have used the time to paint up a storm but the fact is I haven’t been able to create art at all during this time. I just can’t bear the thought of putting brush to canvas at the moment. I’m not sure it just a general lack of motivation or lack of inspiration as I find myself mentally quite numb. Normally my brain is fizzing and popping with ideas and thoughts but in lockdown it’s just switched off. I find it hard even blogging during this time.
I’m sure once this shitshow is all over, inspiration will come back again. I haven’t stopped looking at art, just in case it does spark some inspiration.
One of my favorite artists is Christian Hetzel, whose work lives at the Saatchi Gallery. His art is filled with enormous texture and depth without being shouty. I love his uncompromising non-commercialism.
