Black Drama

Diana Paukstyte is a Lithuanian born designer based in Vilnius and creating a clothing label under her own name. I lusted after a full-length draped red dress with a harness from her 2016/17 collection. The items her shop are actually pretty affordable but of course less so if you’re in the UK with added customs and VAT now.

She has an education in painting as well as clothing design. 2004 became the important year as she released her own collection, "Restauracija". After that other collections followed constantly each year. However, as the designer herself claims, 10 years of creating process have had to pass until she found her genuine identity as modern and melancholic avant-garde designer.

Her latest collection, entitled Black Drama, is entirely on a different level. With more than a slight nod to Alexander McQueen, the collection is filled with tartan, tulle and ruffles. It’s just magnificent on every level and I want it all! It’s not in her shop at the moment but I’m hoping she does add some of these pieces to the shop because it’d even be worth the extra customs and VAT.
